I am an English Instructor and an Associate Coordinator of Honors, Communications at North Central Texas College in Corinth, Texas. I teach Composition I, Composition II, Technical Writing, British Literature I and II, and World Lit II.

In December 2009, I completed my Ph.D. in Rhetoric at Texas Woman's University.  My doctoral dissertation argues that the identification of autistic individuals as "living computers" in public discourses illustrates contemporary scientific and technological anxieties.

My diverse teaching experiences and academic research interests have enabled me to study, read, and teach on subjects in Composition Theory/History, Writing Program Administration, Visual Rhetoric, Disability Rhetoric, Technical Writing, Film Studies, Service Learning, Study Abroad, Honors Education, and British Literature.

My first love has always been writing, which I have shared with students for the past nine years.  Prior to working at NCTC, I taught First-Year Composition at Texas Woman's University in Denton and Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.

For the past nine years, I have also worked with low-income, first-generation high school students in the Tarleton State University Upward Bound program--the same program I participated in throughout high school.
